We recently revisited our friends at the wonderful charity the Magpie Project in Forest Gate, London. The charity provides much-needed support and advice to mothers and children under five in temporary or insecure accommodation in the borough of Newham.
Wednesday 18th December was a special day. Mums and their children were invited to the centre to choose some free Christmas presents and the Black Swan team volunteered to help with the gift wrapping (with accompanying elf hats!). Joining us were 98 mums and 213 children that went home with Christmas presents. They may otherwise not have had any presents to enjoy over the festive period.
It was heart-warming to see the children’s smiling faces as they excitedly picked their presents, and it was a reminder of the amazing work the Magpie Project does. See the photos below!
