A recent study by Royal London found evidence that working with a financial planner helps you to boost your knowledge and gain a better understanding of your finances – particularly when it comes to protection and retirement planning.
In the research, the insurer found that people who work with a planner feel they have a significantly better grasp of products and financial matters, compared with people who don’t have an adviser.
The research also found that people who work with a planner and who have access to financial expertise feel more confident about their financial plan.
More than a third (34%) of people who work with a planner say they feel more confident. This figure rises to almost three in five people (58%) who work with a planner on an ongoing basis.
